ABOUT SMA > SCHOOL HOURS
Children should be outside the School by 8.55am each morning so that the School day can begin promptly.
Key Stage One Years: Reception, 1 and 2 8.55- 12.20 & 1.30-3.30
Key Stage Two Years: 3, 4, 5 and 6 8.55- 12.40 & 1.45-3.30
No Key Stage 1 child should be left unaccompanied outside school before the school day starts.
If children arrive at School early, they should use the long playground as a meeting place and play area, where they are visible from School and can easily seek help should it be needed. Children are asked not to play in the gardens or over the graveyards.
The school bell will ring at 8.55 am and pupils in Key Stage 1 should make their way to the infant gate entrance. Pupils in Key Stage 2 should line up in the Long Playground in their classes where the teacher will escort the class into school. Parents are asked not try to catch your child’s year teacher at this moment, as their priority is to get the class into school and working.
All pupils should be collected promptly at 3.30 pm either from the Infant playground (Key Stage 1 pupils), or from the Long playground to the north of the church (Key Stage 2 pupils).
The Headteacher is available ten minutes before school begins. Members of staff are ‘on duty’ at the beginning and end of each school day. Should you wish to see your child's teacher, please see him or her after school and make a mutually convenient time to meet.
If the pupils are participating in after school clubs, the collection time for most clubs will be at 4.45 p.m. Please check to make sure.
