MAGICAL MUSIC
SEVERAL OF OUR VIOLIN PUPILS WERE READY TO TAKE THEIR VIOLIN EXAMS, BUT THE ABRSM HAD TO CLOSE IN MARCH. FAR FROM BEING DEFEATED, OUR VIOLIN TEACHER MISS PIERRE-JEAN CONTINUED TO PREPARE THE PUPILS FOR THEIR EXAM AND EACH PUPIL TOOK THEIR EXAM ON ZOOM WITH MISS PIERRE-JEAN AS THEIR EXAMINER. NO PIANO ACCOMPANIMENTS OF COURSE, BUT THIS HARDLY MATTERS. ALL PUPILS GAINED VERY HIGH SCORES, AND PASSED WITH EITHER MERIT OR DISTINCTION. WELL DONE EVERYONE. HERE ARE SOME OF THEIR PERFORMANCES

MONDAY 4 MAY - CLICK FOR >> RIMSKY- KORSAKOV WORKSHEET
This month a famous Russian Composer: Rimsky-Korsakov. He wrote some fabulous music, so I really hope you will follow the links and listen to a little of his work. Oh, and there's the traditional word search, I think it's a hard one this month.
A big thank you to Thomas Redhead in Class 3 for his excellent information poster about our April Composer of the Month, Thea Musgrave.
Not only has Thomas researched facts about her life, he has actually listened to some of her music and explained his response to it. Fabulous! Our May Composer of the Month will go up on the music page next week, and I have all my fingers and toes crossed for more responses this month! I know you can do it guys. |

27 MARCH - MATCHING GAME
CLICK FOR >> MATCHING GAME PRINTOUT
Hello everyone. Here's a matching/memory game you can play. All levels of the game can be played on your own, or you can invite others in your home and play against them.
Have fun xxxxx
- Level 1. Print two copies of page 1, a list of the dimensions of music. Carefully cut up the squares and play the memory game. Turn the cards over so you can't see the words. Now turn two cards over; if they match (e.g pitch-pitch), you keep the pair. If not, turn them back over and try again until you get a match. The aim of the game is to find all the matches.
- Level 2. Print one copy of each page. Again, cut up the squares. This time you have to match the dimension of music to its definition (e.g pitch-high or low).
- Level 3. Print off two copies of each page. Cut them up. Any matching pair counts, e.g pitch-pitch, pitch-high or low, high or low-high or low.
Have fun xxxxx
