CURRICULUM >ART & DESIGN

The art and design curriculum aims to ensure all pupils:
  • produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences
  • become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture, and other art, craft and design techniques
  • evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
  • know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms
Children are encouraged to enter several art competitions throughout the year and once a year art becomes a real focus through a school wide art competition in which a whole day is given over to the production of a piece of art. This art follows a certain theme or genre. Recent years have seen children produce wonderful art linked to flowers and animals.

Classes throughout the school also regularly visit galleries and art exhibitions across London.
